55 English Electric locomotives were in service or on order. 75 Brush type "2" were in service or on order. 155 1365 h.p. units with a maximum speed of 90 mile/h as compare d with 75 mile/h for the original series were service or on order. It is believed that further type 4 units will be uprated to 2500 h.p.

Stephenson Locomotive  Society Jubilee special: detailed logs cover the outward journey as  fas as Grantham and the return journey from Doncaster to King's Cross when 112 mile/h was attained near Little Bytham. The locomotive was No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and the driver was Bill Hoole with Fireman Hancox.
