Kevin Jones established his SteamIndex website as a tool to assist serious railway researchers. The site included extensive indexes of key railway magazines and journals, biographies and descriptions of people involved with British railways, and descriptions of the major British orgainzations involved in railways. When he wound up the site in 2023, BORHT offered to host material from SteamIndex that is relevant to British railways overseas.
Timetable World plans to republish all of Kevin's content in future, although it isn't available on their site at the time of writing.
Editors Note: Kevin himself mentions that his means of scanning from periodicals and journals
can introduce spelling and grammar errors in the text. Due to the quantity of material, BORHT has not attempted to clean
up these errors. Particular care should be taken when referencing dimensions, and it is recommended that original
source material be consulted if using dimensions (e.g., for modelling).
